ARIS Solutions was formed as a 501(C)3 non-profit corporation in November 1996. The
creation of our corporation came about as a collaborative effort between two small developmental
service agencies to address state-wide budget reductions and to create efficiencies that could be
diverted back to direct services to consumers.
ARIS Solutions is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of representatives from the boards of
directors of the two member agencies, Lincoln Street Incorporated and Upper Valley Services,
Incorporated. Our Board membership reflects a majority of family members and consumers.
Our by-laws prevent us from providing direct care services. Any of our services a consumer may
want to purchase are contracted out to other agencies or individuals who are chosen by the consumer
themselves. We believe in the consumer's right to choose services and service providers and have
created a vehicle by which this can happen.
We currently participate in the provision of services through the Robert Wood Johnson Self-Determination
Grant which was awarded to the State of Vermont. The purpose of this Grant is to provide education and
assistance for individuals who wish to self-manage their services.
